Cincinnati, the city Raffel Prophett has always called home, deserves leadership that understands its heartbeat and is fiercely committed to its progress. Prophett is running for Cincinnati City Council to bring a bold vision, unwavering dedication, and a wealth of experience to the table.
Rooted in Community
As a proud son of Cincinnati, Prophett was raised in this vibrant community, educated in its schools, and shaped by its values. He received his formal education from Cincinnati Public Schools, Cincinnati State Community College, the University of Cincinnati, and Xavier University. He and his wife chose to build their lives in Cincinnati, raising their three incredible children in a city they deeply believe in. But belief alone isn’t enough—action drives change.
Proven Leadership
Prophett’s career has been defined by service. He served, both domestically and overseas, meritoriously in the Ohio National Guard and the United States Army for over 32 years. For nearly 32 years, the Cincinnati Fire Department (CFD) was the center of his professional life. As a fire district chief, he had the honor of leading Cincinnati’s courageous first responders, working tirelessly to protect neighborhoods and ensure the safety and resilience of every resident. This experience instilled in him an unshakable commitment to community and a deep understanding of how to make systems work for the people they serve.

Prophett believes Cincinnati’s best days are ahead. He envisions a city where every neighborhood thrives, every family feels safe, and every resident has the opportunity to succeed. He sees Cincinnati as a city of equity, sustainability, and shared success. Having witnessed what’s possible when communities come together, Prophett is ready to fight for a future where no one is left behind. Most importantly, he is committed to providing the best opportunities for children to become happy, vibrant, and productive human beings.
